Biography: Edie Falco is an American actress who came to fame with her portrayal of Carmela Soprano in the critically acclaimed HBO series The Sopranos (1999-2007), a role that earned her multiple Emmy Awards. Her portrayal of Carmela, the wife of mob boss Tony Soprano played by James Gandolfini, was a standout performance.

In addition to The Sopranos, Falco achieved significant recognition in a number of other roles. She played Nurse Jackie Peyton in the Showtime series Nurse Jackie (2009-2015), in which she depicted a strong but flawed emergency room nurse struggling with addiction, earning critical acclaim and additional Emmy Awards.

She has also had roles in such shows as Oz (1997-2000) as Diane Whittlesey and as Sylvia Wittel in Horace and Pete (2016).
