Biography: In the 1980s Shue became a starring actress in such films as "The Karate Kid" (1984) and "Cocktail" (1988) with Tom Cruise. Roles in the blockbuster Back to the Future Part II and III followed.

Her most critically acclaimed part came with the 1995 film "Leaving Las Vegas" directed by Mike Figgis and co-starring Nicolas Cage. She was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for her role alongside Cage who went on to win.

From 2012-15 she starred in the long-running TV crime series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation".
